August 19, 2002--Warrendale, PA.  The Technical Council of the Transit Standards Consortium (http://www.tsd.org/tsc/Transit_Security.htm ) will be hosting a National Teleconference on “Emerging Standards for Transit Information Technology Security” on Wednesday, August 21, 2002 from 1-2:30 pm, EDT.  The teleconference is open to transit, information technology, systems integrators and other professionals in other public, private and academic communities related to public transportation.  The event is the second in a four-part national teleconference series on “Standards for Transit Security and Homeland Defense.”  The series is co-sponsored by Palisades Group USA (http://www.palisadesgroup.com/PGUSA) a leader in transit standards development, ITS and security and a member of the Transit Standards Consortium (http://www.tsconsortium.org/).

The August 21st Teleconference will be moderated by Mimi Hwang, CISSP, President of KAO eTechnologies, Inc., Orlando, FL, and will feature Ed Fuller, CISSP, GESC, Vice President, Training and Education of Security Horizon, Colorado Springs, CO (http://www.securityhorizon.com/).  Mr. Fuller has over 26 years of experience in Operations, Tactical, and Computer Information Systems and Security.  Following his presentation, Don McCanless, Chief Technology Officer, Washington Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority (WMATA), Washington, DC, and Ralph Menzano, Chief Information Officer for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) will discuss issues and opportunities raised in the presentation.
