Ms. Isbell’s 23 year
career as an international logistician incorporates a unique
combination of operations and sales management in the
international trade and logistics industries. Her broad and
practical knowledge base covers all modes of transportation,
logistics, warehousing, vendor and logistics service provider
management, customs compliance, and purchase order and shipment
tracking systems. Experience as both an importer/exporter and
logistics service provider (LSP) affords her a unique perspective
of the intricacies of end-to-end supply chain management. She is a
creative, process-minded strategic thinker with a pragmatic
approach, and has a demonstrated track record of successfully
conceiving and implementing positive change.
Prior to founding Starboard Alliance Company, Ms. Isbell held
executive positions with Columbia Sportswear Company as the Director
of Corporate Logistics and Trade and with Asics Tiger Corporation as
Manager, Purchasing and Inventory Control. Her experience as a
logistics service provider includes Vice President and Manager of
Corporate Customers for Direct Line Cargo Management Services, Inc./Danzas
AEI; Western Region Manager for Buyers & Shippers Enterprises, a
Sea-Land Service, Inc. subsidiary; and Western Region Marketing
Manager and Western Region Sales Manager for Sea-Land Service, Inc.
Clients have included Nike, Nike Team Sports, Fred Meyer/Kroger,
Pope & Talbot, InFocus, Cyber Acoustics, Port of Portland, Port of
Vancouver Washington, OIA Global Logistics, Kintetsu World Express,
Levi Strauss, Warner Bros. Studio Stores, K-Swiss, Esprit, and
Petsmart.
Ms. Isbell received her undergraduate degree in Politics, with an
international concentration, and Degree of Proficiency in Russian
Studies from Princeton University, and is fluent in Russian and
French. She served as Vice President and Board of Directors member
of the Pacific Northwest International Trade Association (PNITA) for
two years prior to its merger with the Portland Business Alliance (PBA)
in July 2003. Ms. Isbell currently is a board member of the PBA and
also holds membership in the Columbia River Customs Brokers and
Forwarders Association.
In 2002 and 2003, Ms. Isbell was a guest lecturer for a course at
Portland State University’s Masters in International Management
Program entitled Marketing to Asia. She has spoken on various topics
at conferences including the Footwear Distributors and Retailers of
America, the Transportation Club of San Francisco and PNITA, and has
conducted training seminars on subjects including supply chain
security and Customs-Trade Partnership against Terrorism (C-TPAT).
She has also written articles for the Journal of Commerce and Marine
Digest and Cargo Business News.
