Eva Lerner-Lam has 29 years of
experience in transportation planning, operations, security,
research and policy making. Founder and President of the Palisades
Consulting Group, Inc., she is the Past Chair of the Transportation
Security Committee and Past President of the American Society of Civil Engineers’
Transportation and Development Institute. She serves on numerous
professional society and homeland security-related committees and
panels dealing with national and regional transportation security
issues.
Eva was Project Director of the US
Department of Transportation’s Transit Communications Interface
Profiles (TCIP) standards development project, was a founding
member of the Transit Standards Consortium, Inc. (TSC), and
currently serves as Chair of the TSC Board of Trustees.
As a planner for the San Diego
Metropolitan Transit Development Board in the early 1980’s, she
worked on the start-up of the San Diego Trolley and became Director
of Planning and Operations for MTDB.
In 1988, Eva was appointed by
Governor Thomas H. Kean of New Jersey to serve on the New Jersey
Transit Corporation’s Board of Directors. She also served as Interim
Executive Director of Princeton University’s Intelligent
Transportation Systems Program and taught a popular course on Urban
Transportation Planning at the New Jersey Institute of Technology
Graduate School.
Eva is a Fellow of the Institute of
Transportation Engineers, chaired the Institute’s Transit ITS Joint
Committee and was the recipient of the ITE 1991 Best Paper Award.
She was a charter member of IVHS America and chaired its APTS Task
Force on Spatial Data Standards. She served as Chair of the
Executive Committee of the Urban Transportation Division of the
American Society of Civil Engineers, and is Past Chair of the
Transit IDEA Panel for the Transportation Research Board, a division
of the National Research Council of the National Academy of
Sciences.
She has received numerous
professional recognition awards, including the 1995 ITE Metropolitan
Section New York/New Jersey Engineer of the Year, the 1998 ASCE
Frank M. Masters Engineering Achievement Award and the 2004
International Chinese Transportation Professionals Association
Outstanding Achievement Award.
Eva is a graduate and Former Trustee
of Princeton University, and earned a Masters degree in Civil
Engineering/Transportation Systems Division from the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology.
