Thomas McPherson - Principal Analyst

Mr. McPherson is currently a Principal Analyst (since 1987) for Sonalysts, Inc.  He has more than seventeen years of experience in associated research, analysis, and gaming for the Naval War College and other federal and private organizations.  Prior to his employment with Sonalysts, Mr. McPherson served for 22 years in the U.S. Navy, working in various management positions. His military experience included senior military staff assignments and squadron commanding officer. In all of these capacities, he planned and administered games, workshops, and/or exercises at the tactical and operational levels.

Mr. McPherson has significant experience in all aspects of war games, workshops, and exercises. He has directly supported DOD, DOT, USCG, DOJ, FEMA, Defense Threat Reduction Agency, and indirectly supported most Federal Agencies across a wide range of strategic and operational initiatives. He is knowledgeable in techniques to optimize interactive group dynamics to meet simple and complex event objectives. Mr. McPherson is highly experienced as a designer, facilitator, recorder, analyst, and reporter. He has developed all supporting activity materials to aid the facilitators and the participants, and analyzed, produced and delivered final event reports on a variety of DOD, Agency, and commercial games tabletops and exercises.
